Bodor and Hogarth earn All-American Honors at 2007 NCAA DII Indoor National Championships

Distance runners Kim Hogarth and Oliver Bodor both scored All-American honors last week to give Western State four top finishes at the NCAA DII Indoor National Championships in Boston, Mass.

Hogarth and Bodor joined freshman Domonique Bingham and Senior Michael Gusbeth to earn All-American Honors.

As a team, the men finished 14th with 15 points and the women finished 36th with 2 points. St. Augustine won both the men's and women's team titles.

Hogarth and Bodor finished second and third respectively, in the 5,000 meter run, trailing Abilene Christian's Nicodemus Naimadu.

Naimadu won the event in 14.02.87, while Hogarth finish in 14.03.09 and Bodor finished in 14.09.48. The time for Hogarth is a career-best and ranks forth all-time at Western State.

Hogarth took the lead from Naimadu with 800 meters to go and the two men staged a stirring stretch duel until Naimadu took the lead with 70 meters to go and held on to beat the New Zealand sophomore by twenty three hundredths of a second.

The race was not the first time the trio has battled. They are longtime foes in cross country. Naimadu has won three DII Cross Country national titles. Three years ago he beat Bodor at the line to win his first title. This year Hogarth placed 5th wile Naimadu won his third title.
